Script for annual award function for MC (Emcee, Master of Ceremonies)

[I have created this script for annual award function for an organization. You can edit/modify/delete the content based on your need. Program duration is mentioned to plan the overall schedule.]

Important tip: It is important that host needs to have full energy while inviting a performer or guest on the stage. He/she can be loud to showcase the energy in him/her & the audience. Also, Anchors / hosts should remember to hold the mic extremely close to mouth, as this will help him/her to attain maximum clarity. It is also recommended that the Anchor/host test the mic once before going on stage to check that it is working properly,

Background announcement.: Good evening everyone, we would like to inform everybody to kindly make yourself comfortable in your seats as we’re going to begin the show in just a while now.

Host: Good evening ladies and gentlemen (One can use the foreign language greeting if the show is in not India). Welcome to the (Function name). This is ABC & I am with my friend & co-host DEF.

DEF: Thank you ABC. Good evening audience. (One more time) Good evening Audience.

Before we start the evening today, can we please have a huge round of applause for all who have come here to make this evening memorable?

ABC: Today’s event recognizes extraordinary talent and commitment demonstrated by all (Company Name) employees. Also, we will be celebrating for our unsung heroes who stand today as a beacon of excellence as they take (Company Name) to new heights. And this will be followed by unbelievable performances from those unassuming individuals with hidden talent right here at (Company Name).

DEF: So, without much delay, May I please call upon (Call Senior Members available for the event).

ABC: Ladies and gentlemen please join me as we welcome our senior managers and leaders

(Lamps lighting & then seniors speak few words.)

DEF: Thank you Gents.

In Indian tradition, out of all the gods and goddesses, we always pray to lord Ganesha first, because Lord Ganesha is also known as the “Vighnaharta” which means “the one who destroys obstacles”

So, let’s begin our annual gathering by remembering Lord Ganesha’s name…

(One may plan to do the national anthem by kids in place of Lord Ganesh's prayer, if this show is not in India)

ABC: And for this, I would like to call (Performer name) on stage to pray to Lord Ganesha. So, everybody, please put your hands together for (Performer name)

(Performer does the Ganesh Prayer…)

DEF: Thank you (Performer name) for the prayer. (Compliment her on her traditional dress)

ABC: For any organization, rewarding it’s people is incredibly important. The Awards ceremonies are a celebration of talent, success and achievement. It also celebrates hard work, in turn making people feel appreciated and well-respected.

DEF: Well said, ABC. And with this, I would like to announce the 1^st category of awards for this evening which is (1^st Award name). I would like to call Mr. AB on stage to present the awards to the winners.

BG: Wow!!! What a performance. The only way to thank BH & BI is a huge round of applause. Can we please have a big round of applause for them.

We all love to sing and some of us are bathroom singers too and what best is that we have secret talented singers in (Company Name). It’s time to call our own talented singers on stage, let’s welcome Ms. BK & Ms. BL.

BE: A round of applause for the wonderful performance. A child has neither PAST nor FUTURE, they enjoy the PRESENT.. We all forget how to live when we grow up… so it’s time for us to also live in the present with the kids..

Are you ready to see how these kids shake the body… Please motivate these kids with the huge round of applause….

BG: Amazing…… What a cute performance by little stars… Let’s continue with this trend of dancing & see more dancing performances…. So time to call our next performer BM who will perform a solo dance for us … Please welcome BM on stage with a round of applause.

BE: Oh my God…. What a performance.. a huge round of applaud for BM.. (Stops and try to hear something…) Did you also hear something… I hear a rap song…… Let’s see who is Rapping for us today.. Let’s call on stage on our next performer, a rapper.. BN with a big round of applause.

BG: Excellent, impressive… I really enjoyed it, BN and I am sure the audience enjoyed it too.. 

(Announcement for dinner by host or background announcement)

BG: As we progress in this evening, It’s time for another group dance performance by (Performers’ name)… Let’s hear it for the team…. Claps…..

BE: I must say that this was one of the memorable performance of the evening… do you not agree with me audience… let’s clap for the group once again…. & now move on to our next performance of the evening with a solo dance performance by BO… Let’s applaud for BO……

BG: What an incredible night with some of the awesome performances, sadly this is our last performance for this evening & this comes from our own rapper, Mr. BP…. A big round of applause for BP…
